Definitely think that Crypto isn't the one-size fit all solution for everything that a lot of people think it is. But it does have a lot of promise for the applications that "fit" it nicely based on the strengths you listed

I think for me, it's censorship resistance. I like feeling that I am in control of my money.
This was made really evident when I tried to make my first deposit into coinbase which was rejected by the bank. on the grounds of "I shouldn't put money in cryptocurrencies".. Although after a rant down the phone I was told the next attempt would not be declined...

Yeah, the "power to the people" part is my favorite aspect of crypto. My second favorite is the universal use -- it's like flying cash.

Flying cash.....I like that one!! For me it is the fact that real cash is systematically being phased out, which gives way too much power to banks and governments, that are not necessarily operating in our interest, so it is a good thing to have leverage and a way to opt out whenever we want.

it's a nice read, thanks for sharing this! for me, crypto is definitely a game changer. changed the way we do our economy and i must say, the change is for the better. it's the way to go, whether we like it or not.

Individuals cryptocurrencies are digital and cannot be counterfeited or reversed arbitrarily by the sender, as with credit card charge-backs

I think cryptocurrency itself, meaning the coins and tokens, cannot be counterfeited however, the channels or platforms where they are used can. So I think that is a roadblock, a major one, unfortunately. While there are definitely lots of advantages to the crypto being a digital asset but it also became a catalyst for scammers.

I still believe in the great potential cryptocurrency could have but there is a need for it to be secured as well.

Advantage Of Cryptocurrency in short
-> Cross-border transactions will be easy and cheap.
-> Central banks will not have much control on cryptocurrencies
-> Hard to get robbed if you are following best practices.
-> You can save taxes.

I'd be careful with the "save taxes" part; it's on a public ledger and chain analysis is getting more powerful over time.
